Real and wickedly funny, Stephanie Miller is Progressive Talk’s new twist.
Stephanie is no stranger to political talk and current events, as her late father, William E. Miller of Lockport, was Barry Goldwater’s running mate in the Republicans’ failed 1964 bid for the presidency. How strangely fitting that exactly 40 years after her father accepted the GOP nomination, his daughter is helping to balance out the “right wing wackos” on talk radio by joining the ranks of the “left-wing wackos.”
Since its September 2004 debut, The Stephanie Miller Show is one of the fastest growing shows in Progressive Talk, heard on more than 20 stations, including major market stations in Los Angeles, Boston, and Washington, D.C. Ratings for the show in its first Arbitron book were substantially higher than its lead-in and delivered progressively larger audiences throughout its time slot. Miller’s ratings among the key demographic—Men 25-54—were extremely strong and indicated her mass appeal across the typical talk radio gender divide.
The path to Miller’s career as an entertainer began in Buffalo, N.Y. where she was raised and landed her first job in radio. Growing up, she never listened to the radio; she wanted to be Carol Burnett. When she was about 23, Miller was on the air on "Hot 104" in her hometown. She then brought her radio talents to Rochester, Chicago and then New York City where she was on “Hot 97” in morning drive. Next, she turned her talents to Talk Radio and went on to L.A. where she was a ratings winner on both KFI AM and KABC AM. The Stephanie Miller Show is now heard in morning drive on KTLK AM 1150, Los Angeles, the flagship station for the show.
Miller’s fresh voice and political satire have been cultivated over years of experience as a media personality and comedienne. Most recently, she was a host for “I've Got a Secret” on cable's Oxygen network and a celebrity game show panelist on the PAX Network's “Balderdash.”
Miller hosted a late-night network television talk show syndicated by Disney and guest hosted on CNBC's “Equal Time” as the liberal counterweight to Pat Buchanan’s sister. She also has appeared on ABC'S "Good Morning America," NBC's "Today Show," the "Tonight Show," CNN's "Larry King Live," FOX's "The O'Reilly Factor," and many others.
The Stephanie Miller Show is produced by Democracy Radio and is syndicated by Jones Radio Networks, the nation’s leading independent radio programming company.
